What’s in your wallet?

If you take the advice offered in John Izzo’s latest book to heart, you’ll soon be carrying a business card-sized piece of paper bearing a few words reminding you of a change you want to make in your life.

And you’ll be taking that card out 10 to 12 times a day to make sure the run-of-the-mill choices you make fit with the changes you want to see.

Izzo doesn’t suggest you to carry the card so you can beat yourself up when your actions are at odds with the stated goal. Rather, he says, it is simply so you can be aware of what you want. Through the simple act of paying attention, he says, change occurs.
